Utah Nuclear Testing

Posted by justjoe on September 15th, 2004

“I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of their way and let them have it.”

–Dwight D. Eisenhower,
U.S. president and general

The truth is Nuclear Testing or Waste or any other issue that might be discussed, and discussion is generally a hopeful proposition at best, is all about money and nothing to do with merit. What a pitty that so many Utahns continue to buy into the idea that the leadership today really cares about anything but their pocket and prestige.

Point in case is the wobbly conversation from Bob Bennett about the Nuclear Testing in Nevada, which he voted for and in time WILL take place, is just one example of the disengenous dialogue coming out of the Corporate Owned Congress. This is just one more action that moves us farther from a world of peace to a world constantly at war.
Nuclear War was a very real and imminent threat that over the last 3 decades tremendous efforts have been undertaken to remove by the mutual elimination of Nuclear weapons. Escalation of that threat is now back on the table and other countries are responding with the redevelopment and for some countries the new development of Nuclear Weapons. This of course means that small groups and individuals have an ever growing cache of material to choose from.

To address the issue of Mutually Assured Destruction, the Dirty Bomb or small Suitcase Bombs you simply have to remove the material. Now this is not a new or novel idea but can be found discussed at shundahai.org, wslfweb.org, downwinders.org, nti.org, nuclearfiles.org, nirs.net, ananuclear.org, armscontrol.org, ialana.org/home.htm

All of this discussion needs to be placed into an historical framework as in the following: http://snipurl.com/93np

which highlights another example of US pre-emption under the present (and I use the term with little regard to the real meaning of the word) leadership.

Must read news articles : http://snipurl.com/93zs http://snipurl.com/93zw

or this article outlining the military strategy for the 21st century: http://snipurl.com/93zz

Who the hell are we suppose to be at war with? Oh, I forgot this isn’t about National Security this is about corporate profits.

This is not about us and them it is strictly about us!!!! The “US” is Human Beings the “THEM” are corporations and special interest that have bought and paid for OUR representatives in Washington. Until “us” stop electing “them” to office we will never have a meaningful approach to solving the issues that face, yes you guessed it, “us”.

In case you haven’t noticed their are no more superpowers to fight and if there were this is not the way to do it.
