WAR – Vietnam – My Lai Massacre

Posted by justjoe on 9th March 2011

In the midst of a war crime called Vietnam where millions were massacred with weapons of mass destruction in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos a brief moment of sane reasoning prevails. One such moment in the hamlet of My Lai Vietnam descended from the sky in the form of a helicopter gun ship piloted by Hugh Thompson.

This is his story

Final Word

As a Vietnam Veteran wrestling with the utter insanity of this conflict, those that preceded it, to the present day slaughter of people, their cultures, lands, resources and other life relations I am left resolute in the following:

  1. 10,000 years of city state, empire society’s are run by predominately 8 year old male children that got big but never grew up.
  2. Until the women and especially the grandmothers are held in the highest regard both in our homes and high councils the 8 year olds will never truly grow up and the insanity continues.

Humanity has precious little time left to resolve this brain dead approach to being. Neither “We the People”, the plant life or the animal life will survive this much longer.

Perhaps we need to set up a small part of some desert for folks that wish to kill each other, give them a canteen of water and let them go hand to hand in some personal combat. I would leave them there until they demonstrated a willingness to put aside their violent intent and live in a peaceful way among the rest of humanity.

OK simplistic? Yes.

International Women’s Day – On the Bridge

Posted by justjoe on 9th March 2011

A must See and Be celebration that should evoke a participatory spirit in all of us. After all it is the Mothers and Grandmothers to whom we should be turning for our wisdom to guide us into the future for the next generations.

After 10,000 years of men dominating the landscape of our “Mother Earth” with little else to show for it other than WAR and more WAR maybe we should extend our attention, efforts and resources to the women of this world, especially the Women of the remaining Earth Cultures.

Reflections

Posted by justjoe on 5th May 2010

This is a piece sent me from a friend thought you would enjoy.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDdeai7pvzM

I posted the following comment at her website http://simonova.tv/en and would hope you would leave her a comment and enjoy the other videos and story’s

Dear Kseniya

I am so glad that you persevered and worked through your doubt and fears with such great help and encouragement from your husband Igor.

Your artistry and story telling is so encouraging to me on my quest for world peace as it presents us with our human conflict of hate and love. My hope is that by presenting us with the outcome of hate being so distructive to the opportunity to love we will work harder for love.

As a Viet Nam Veteran from America I live with the horror of being part of a war machine that slaughtered over 5 million human beings with weapons of mass distruction and a continuing policy of destroying other countries peoples. It is such a haunting presence in my life leaving me homeless and distant from my family which, I believe is foundational to being human.

By illuminating the ravages of war and the beauty of compassion and love through your art perhaps human beings will be moved to a more peaceful way of life.

Most Sincerely,

Joe

“Until lions tell their tale,

the story of the hunt will always glorify the hunter”

African Proverb

To “establish justice” both sides of the story must be told.  The link below is just one of many such storys that we all must learn to become “Just human beings”

JANE PRETTYMAN – A NEW FRIEND

Posted by justjoe on 14th October 2009

Jane contacted me and ordered two posters from the Robert Shetterly portrait series of  “Americans who tell the truth”. From that order came a superlatively delightful three + hour conversation that was enlightining and hopeful. I would like to share some of the fruit of that gathering in the form of some of Jane’s past and present work.

Rep. Alan Grayson – a true “We the People” Representative

Posted by justjoe on 13th October 2009

Representative Alan Grayson of Florida’s 8th District:

As you watch this series of what are contemporaneously straight forward and bold presentations of the facts in this inanely argued, but extremely critical “Health Care”  issue, one can only hope that the rest of the country would send to congress other “Corporate Free” House and Senate representatives.

I do think his argument should be “Corporate Owned” Representatives – not just the Republicans – who’s obvious goal is to destroy this country by destroying the people.
